Floribunda (W3)
Die bezeichnung bot. "Floribunda" kennzeichnet viele reichlich blühende Pflanzen. Insbesondere bezeichnet es eine Rosenklasse die aus Kreuzungen zwischen "Teehybriden" und "Polyantharosen" entstand.Die Bezeichnung bot. "floribunda", "floribundus" = dt. "reichblühend" setzt sich zusammen aus lat. "florere", "Floreszenz" = "blühen", "flos" Gen. "floris" = dt. "Blume", und lat. "bundus" = dt. "voll", "reich" (in Zusammensetzungen).
Lat. "floris" findet man auch im Namen der römischen Göttin der Blumen "Flora" und in dt. "florieren", "Florist", "Florett", "Floskel", frz. "fleur", amer. "Florida". Lat. "bundus" findet man auch in engl. "abounding" = dt. "reichlich", "reich", "voll". Im Deutschen findet man dt. "Bund" und "Bündel" die oft in ähnlicher Bedeutung gebraucht werden.

Die "Kranzschlinge", botanisch heißt sie "Stephanotis floribunda", ist eine elegante Rankpflanze, die nicht nur durch ihre langen, gewundenen Triebe, sondern auch wegen ihrer weißen, duftenden Blüten die Menschen begeistert: Der deutsche Name der "Kranzschlinge" weist auf einen alten Brauch hin. Früher wurden die Triebe mit den schneeweißen Blüten in Brautsträuße und Kränze gewunden.
