Anders Celsius entwickelte 1742 das Quecksilberthermometer mit einer hundert Grad-Einteilung. Celsius hatte ursprünglich 0 Grad für den Siedepunkt und 100 Grad für den Gefrierpunkt des Wassers festgelegt. Carl von Linné schlug vor, diese Skala umzudrehen. Ansonsten blieb die von Celsius festgelegte Einteilung erhalten. Ihm zu Ehren spricht man von "Grad Celsius".
November 27, 2001: Anders Celsius, born in Uppsala, was one of a large number of scientists (all related) originating from Ovanåker in the province of Hälsingland.
For his metereological observations he constructed his world famous Celsius thermometer, with 0 for the boiling point of water and 100 for the freezing point. After his death in 1744 the scale was reversed to its present form.

Das Knäckebrot von WASA ist eigentlich adlig! Der Name kommt nämlich von König Gustav "Wasa" von Schweden. Der bestieg 1523 den Thron.
