Die Rose trägt den Namen der Galleria Borghese in einem großen Park in Rom. Hier sind die von der Familie Borghese (ital. "borghese" = dt. "bürgerlich", "Bürger-") gesammelten Gemälde (Raffael, Tizian, Correggio u. a.) und Skulpturen (Bernini, Canova, antike Werke) ausgestellt.
Die römische Adelsfamilie, verdankt ihrem berühmtesten Vertreter Papst Paul V. (1605-21) Reichtum und Fürstentitel.

In freier Assoziation fügt er Versatzstücke zusammen, kombiniert Erhabenes und Profanes - kostbare A.S.-Rom-Fanartikel, Militaria, Votivbilder, Opfergeräte und grellgrüne Plastiksandalen -, betreibt lustvoll Systembruch und Irritation.
