Es gab eine Zeit, da galt "Alitalia" den Italienern noch als Inbegriff des Wirtschaftswunders nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg. Es war die Zeit, als das Italienische chic wurde. "Alitalia" ist eine Wortkombination aus "ali" und "Italia" - "Flügel Italiens". Nun, sie tragen nicht mehr.

FIAT-Panda (W3)

Der im September (2003) auf den Markt gekommene Kleinwagen des Autobauers Fiat sollte nicht wie zunächst geplant "Gingo" sondern erneut "Panda" heißen. Zu dieser Entscheidung kam es nicht, weil der Fiat-Konzern so sehr an dem Namen "Panda" hängt, sondern weil der französische Autobauer Renault sich gegen die Verwendung des Namens "Gingo" gewehrt hatte, da sich "Gingo" und "Twingo" phonetisch zu ähnlich seien.

Das etwa um 1940 in Italien von Pietro Ferrero kreierte Nußnugatcreme "nutella" entwickelte sich vom Schokoladencreme-Ersatz zum beliebten Brotaufstrich. Erst einige Zeit nach dem Krieg, 1964, sollte sie, nach den Bezeichnungen "Pasta Gianduja" und "Supercrema", einen international klingenden Namen erhalten. Und so entschied man sich für das englische Wort "nut" = "Nuss" und verknüpfte es mit der italienischen Verkleinerungs-Endung "-ella".

Der Bäcker Sepp, der 1930 eine Firma gründete, um italienisches Design in die Welt zu tragen.

Die Gesellschaft "Pininfarina" wurde im Jahr 1930 von Battista "Pinin" Farina in Turin, Italien gegründet.

Der Markenname setzt sich also zusammen aus dem Vornamen ital. "Pinin", einer Verkleinerungsform von "Giuseppe", "Giuseppino", dt. "Josef", oder "Pino". Der Nachname "Farina" geht wohl auf ital. "farina" = dt. "Mehl" zurück und könnte vielleicht einen Müller oder Bäcker bezeichnet haben - aber auch einen Getreidebauer oder Getreidehändler.
