Gypsy - Rose
Gypsy or Orange Red, Hybrid Tea 1972

"the Nile", "Egypt" übernommen.
dt. "Zigeunerwagen" = engl. "gypsy caravan"
dt. "zigeunern" = engl. "gypsy"

Pretty Dyana - A Gypsy recycling saga
44:59 - Vor 7 Jahren
An intimate look at Gypsy refugees in Belgrade suburb who make a living by transfoming Citroen's classic "2cv" and Dyana cars into Mad Max-like recycling vehicles, with which they ollect cardoard, bottles and scrap metal. These modern horses are much more efficient than the cart-pushing competition, but more important - they also mean freedom, hope and style for their crafty owners. Even the car batteries are used as power generators in order to get some light, watch tv and recharge mobiles! Almost an alchemist's dream come true! But the police doesn't allways find these strange vehicles funny...

"Gypsy" is actually a corruption of the word "Egyptian"! However, gypsies did not originate from Egypt. This error in old European thinking can be traced back to at least the 16th century.
They are a nomadic people thought to have originated from India.
When a word is cut off in the front (like Gypsy for Egyptian) and it looses a letter or whole syllable, it is called an "aphetic" ("aphesis"). Another example: "squire" from "esquire".

Sign Of The Gypsy Queen - by April Wine
Gypsy Rose Lee (W3)

(E?)(L?) http://www.investopedia.com/terms/g/
(E?)(L?) http://www.investopedia.com/terms/g/gypsyswap.asp#axzz21L8rjksM
A method in which a company may raise capital without issuing additional debt or holding a secondary public offering. Gypsy swaps consist of multiple transactions, with the ultimate result being an increase in capital for the business. By convincing existing shareholders to trade in common shares for restricted shares, the business can then sell the common shares to new investors, thus increasing capital.
While gypsy swaps appear to be a roundabout way of creating capital, the act typically results in the company having to sweeten the pot for both new and existing shareholders in order to accept the terms of the deal. In most cases, gypsy swaps are last-ditch efforts to avoid cash constraints or bank covenants by engaging in some "creative" capital raising.
