D-U-N-S Nummer (W3)
(E?)(L?) http://www.dnbgermany.de/German/default.htm
(E?)(L?) http://www.presseportal.de/story.htx?nr=737264

Family Business first identified America’s oldest family companies last year (Spring 2001). This list of oldest family companies outside the U.S. - compiled over four years - is the logical companion. All of the listed companies are at least two centuries old; a few have lasted in the same family for more than a millennium. The very oldest, Japanese temple-builder Kongo Gumi, was founded in 578.

What is the G8?
Since 1975, the heads of state or government of the major industrial democracies have been meeting annually to deal with the major economic and political issues facing their domestic societies and the international community as a whole. The six countries at the first summit, held at Rambouillet, France, in November 1975, were "France", the "United States", "Britain", "Germany", "Japan" and "Italy" (sometimes referred to as the "G6").
They were joined by "Canada" at the San Juan Summit of 1976 in Puerto Rico, and by the "European Community" at the London Summit of 1977.
From then on, membership in the Group of Seven, or "G7", was fixed, although 15 developing countries' leaders met with the G7 leaders on the eve of the 1989 Paris Summit, and the "USSR" and then "Russia" participated in a post-summit dialogue with the "G7" since 1991. Starting with the 1994 Naples Summit, the "G7" met with Russia at each summit (referred to as the "P8" or "Political Eight").
The Denver Summit of the Eight was a milestone, marking full Russian participation in all but financial and certain economic discussions; and the 1998 Birmingham Summit saw full Russian participation, giving birth to the Group of Eight, or "G8" (although the G7 continued to function along side the formal summits).
At the Kananaskis Summit in Canada in 2002, it was announced that Russia would host the G8 Summit in 2006, thus completing its process of becoming a full member. (See Delegations & Documents for a list of all summits since 1975.)

The "G8" is short for "Group of Eight", just as "G7" is short for "Group of Seven". The eight members of the "G8" are, in order of their rotating hosting responsibilities:
- France
- United States
- United Kingdom
- Russia (as of 2006)
- Germany
- Japan
- Italy
- Canada
The "G7" consists of the same members without Russia. When the group meets "at seven", that means Russia was not an active participant.
There is a ninth member of both the G7 and G8: the "European Union". At the leaders' level, the EU is represented by both the president of the European Commission and the rotating president of the European Council.
Other groups are related to the G7/8. The "G20" is the Group of Twenty finance ministers and central bank governors, who meet annually (see "What is the G20"). This is different from another "G20", often referred to as the "G20" developing countries, which is involved in specifically in trade issues relating to the World Trade Organization and does not include any members of the "G8". The "L20", or Leaders Twenty, is a concept proposing regular meetings of the leaders of 20 countries representing both industrialized and developing countries, similar to the "G20".
For more information about what the G7/8 does and its history, please see "What is the G8" and the lectures and presentations on G8 Online.

Keynesianer
Keynesianismus

Lions Clubs (W3)

(E?)(L?) http://www.lionsclubs.org/EN/about-lions/mission-and-history/index.php
In 1917, Melvin Jones, a Chicago business leader, told members of his local business club they should reach beyond business issues and address the betterment of their communities and the world. Jones' group, the Business Circle of Chicago, agreed.
After contacting similar groups around the United States, an organizational meeting was held on June 7, 1917, in Chicago, Illinois, USA. The new group took the name of one of the invited groups, the "Association of Lions Clubs", and a national convention was held in Dallas, Texas, USA in October of that year. A constitution, by-laws, objects and a code of ethics were approved.
Within three years, Lions became an international organization. Since then, we've earned high marks for both integrity and transparency. We're a well-run organization with a steady vision, a clear mission, and a long - and proud - history.
